Cemented and Cementless Stem System

POLARSTEM primary hip stem

Product Information

POLARSTEM Cementless and Cemented Stem System for primary hip replacement

EVERY Patient

Designed to match femoral anatomy

EVERY Approach

The simple surgical technique leads to reproducible results and allows implantation using both conventional and minimally invasive techniques.

EVERY Bearing

POLARSTEM is available with the R3 Acetabular Cup and VERILAST technology. This unique combination of an OXINIUM oxidized zirconium head with highly crosslinked polyethylene combines the advantages of excellent wear performance with lowest allergy and no fracture or chipping.

Implant features and instrument options

POLARSTEM offers several design features that assist with muscle sparing approaches:

• Thick proximal area to help reduce the risk of subsidence

• Shorter stem length than other fully HA coated stems

• Thin distal area with a narrow tip, making it easier to implant through a smaller incision

• Broaches with compaction teeth anterior/posterior and bone cutting teeth medial/lateral that allow for an optimal fit between the stem and cortical bone

• 180 microns of Ti-plasma spray plus 50 microns of HA

Product portfolio

• Standard and lateral versions available in both collared and collarless options

• The collared stems provide secondary stability

• Valgus stem available to provide a reduced offset option and address valgus femur types instrument set

• Simple and user friendly instrumentation for all surgical approaches

• Offset of the lateral stems is increased by 3.5 mm compared to the standard stem to better reconstruct the hip biomechanics

• The valgus stem provides a reduced offset option to address difficult valgus, abnormalities
